We are seeking a dedicated Flood Risk Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing flood risk, developing mitigation strategies, and supporting infrastructure projects related to flood management. Responsibilities
Conduct flood risk assessments using advanced modelling tools and GIS software such as ArcGIS.
Develop flood defence designs and mitigation measures employing AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and CAD.
Manage multiple projects from inception through to completion, ensuring adherence to deadlines and budgets.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including civil engineers, environmental specialists, and construction personnel.
Prepare detailed technical reports, drawings, and documentation for planning applications and stakeholder presentations.
Support the development of flood risk management strategies aligned with local regulations and environmental standards.
Assist in site inspections and oversee construction activities related to flood defence infrastructure.
Keep abreast of current industry standards, climate change impacts, and innovative flood mitigation techniques.
Experience
Proven experience in flood risk assessment or hydraulic modelling within the civil or environmental engineering sectors.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, ArcGIS, and other CAD software is essential.
Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks effectively.
Knowledge of construction processes related to flood defence infrastructure is highly desirable.
Mechanical knowledge relevant to hydraulic systems or flood defence equipment is advantageous.
Experience working with civil engineering principles and environmental legislation is preferred.
