Job Overview


We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Floor Layer to join our flooring team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining various types of flooring in commercial and residential settings. One day you may be on site installing coved vinyl, The next day may be a bespoke design floor in a domestic property. We also install hygienic wall cladding.

This role requires a strong understanding of construction principles, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. The position offers an opportunity to develop specialised skills within the construction industry while contributing to high-quality projects. CSCS cards will be required for access to construction sites.

Sometimes you will be required to work away from home.

Responsibilities



Prepare subfloors by cleaning, levelling, and repairing surfaces to ensure proper installation of flooring materials Measure and cut flooring materials accurately using hand tools and power tools Install a variety of flooring types including hardwood, laminate, vinyl, and carpet according to drawings and project specifications Use carpentry skills to create precise cuts and fitments for flooring components Apply adhesives or other fastening methods as required for secure installation Perform finishing tasks such as cleaning at the end of the day, and keeping work van and tools in order Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure correct installation procedures Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations at all times Assist with site preparation, including demolition or removal of old flooring materials when needed

Qualifications



Proven experience in construction or flooring installation is essential. Proficiency with hand and power tools Strong carpentry skills with the ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings Knowledge of construction in general to help overcome problems and solve issues on site Ability to work independently with minimal supervision whilst maintaining high standards of quality Good organisational skills with attention to detail in measuring and fitting materials accurately Physical fitness to handle lifting, bending, and working on your feet for extended periods Valid UK driving license is essential

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 14.71-20.47 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 39 per week
