Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Floor Layer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and carpentry, with the ability to work with various materials and tools. As a Floor Layer, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining flooring in residential and commercial properties. Your attention to detail and ability to read schematics will ensure that each project meets our high standards of quality.

Responsibilities

Install a variety of flooring materials including carpet, vinyl, laminate, and hardwood. Prepare surfaces by removing old flooring and ensuring the subfloor is clean and level. Use hand tools and power tools effectively to cut and fit flooring materials. Read and interpret schematics to ensure accurate installation. Perform construction painting as needed to finish edges or touch up areas. Collaborate with other tradespeople to complete projects on time and within specifications. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following all health and safety regulations.

Experience

Proven experience in construction or a related field is essential. Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools specific to flooring installation. Familiarity with carpentry techniques and practices is highly desirable. Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately. Previous experience in construction painting is an advantage but not mandatory. Candidates should demonstrate a strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to work well within a team environment.
