Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Floor Screeder to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and laying flooring surfaces with precision and efficiency. This role requires a strong understanding of construction techniques, the ability to operate various hand and power tools, and a keen eye for detail to ensure high-quality finishes. The position offers an excellent opportunity to develop specialised skills within the construction industry, contributing to both residential and commercial projects.

Responsibilities

Prepare subfloors by cleaning, levelling, and applying necessary adhesives or primers. Mix and apply screeding compounds accurately according to project specifications. Use hand tools such as trowels, floats, and spatulas to spread and level screed material. Operate screed pump and power tools safely, including mixers and vibrating screeds, to ensure consistent application. Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.

Qualifications

Proven experience in construction or flooring installation is preferred. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and basic carpentry techniques. Familiarity with construction painting techniques is advantageous but not essential. Ability to interpret instructions accurately and work efficiently under supervision. Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. Strong attention to detail ensuring high standards of quality in all work performed. Physical fitness to handle manual labour tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Relevant certifications or training in construction or flooring installation will be considered an asset.
