Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, supporting warehouse operations, and ensuring timely delivery. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong understanding of warehouse management systems, equipment repair, and materials handling. The Driver will play a vital part in maintaining smooth supply chain operations while adhering to safety standards and organisational procedures.

Responsibilities

Safely operate company vehicles, including lorries and vans, to deliver goods to various locations. Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, ensuring proper handling and safety protocols. Assist with shipping and receiving processes, verifying deliveries against orders and documentation. Conduct routine inspections of vehicles and equipment, performing basic repairs or reporting issues to maintenance teams. Manage inventory movements within the warehouse using Warehouse Management System (WMS) software. Support warehouse activities including organising stock, materials handling, and maintaining cleanliness of work areas. Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle or equipment issues when necessary. Perform basic maths calculations related to load weights, measurements, and delivery documentation. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all operations, including heavy lifting procedures.

Requirements

Valid driving licence suitable for operating commercial vehicles such as lorries or vans. Proven experience in warehouse management systems (WMS), shipping & receiving, or similar logistics roles. Demonstrable skills in equipment repair and mechanical knowledge relevant to vehicle maintenance. Experience with forklift operation is highly desirable. Strong understanding of materials handling techniques and safety procedures for heavy lifting. Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Basic mathematical skills for calculations related to loads and measurements. Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not essential if willing to learn on the job. Ability to work independently whilst following organisational policies and safety standards.
