Job Description

Zest is a fifth-generation British company that has been designing and manufacturing wooden garden products for over 35 years. We are looking for experienced FLT drivers to join our warehouse team on seasonal contracts as we head into our peak season.

We are offering full time work for the 2025 busy season with January starts.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Work effectively as part of a team to accurately and efficiently pick customer orders from the warehouse and stock yard according to the picking sheet issued by your Team Leader/Supervisor. Be responsible for the compliant operation of a Forklift Truck to lift, move and stack goods to fulfill orders as required. Complete daily checks for your Forklift Truck, complete documentation and highlight maintenance issues according to SOP. Attend daily briefings with your team leader/supervisor to discuss daily work schedule, highlight potential difficulties and share ideas to overcome them. Become knowledgeable about the full range of products and layout of the site in order to enable accuracy and efficiency of work and to share your knowledge with colleagues. Ensure picked items are of the right quality and free from damage, reporting any issues to your Team Leader/Supervisor for further action. Stack and prepare goods for loading according to Standard Operating Procedure (SOP's) appropriate to your area of work, ensuring all items on the picking list are present and that goods are correctly presented for dispatch to the customer. Ensure correct packaging and labelling is used according to the product guide where appropriate. Ensure all paperwork you are responsible for is completed accurately and processed on time. Conduct your work and the use of equipment in accordance with Health and Safety Guidelines, being mindful of the safety of yourself and others at all times. Contribute to the overall maintenance of a clean, neat and orderly work area. Be prepared to rotate to other sections and complete additional tasks as required by the Warehouse Manager to support effective functioning of the department.
