Job Description

We are seeking new members for our client's catering team, you'll play a key role in delivering excellent food service and creating a welcoming environment for guests. You'll help maintain high standards across all food and beverage areas, ensuring cleanliness, professionalism, and customer satisfaction.
Food and Bar Service Staff
12.45 per hour (PAYE)
Temporary - On-going
Darlington, DL1
Trial shifts will be arranged for suitable candidates with a view to fulfilling the following:
26 hours based on 4x 6.5 hour shifts. Typical shifts are 07.30-14.00, 09.30-16.00, 10.00-16.30, 13.30-20.00 and 16.00-10.00. Candidates must be available to work over 7 days.
Rotas are completed one week prior.
Key Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and efficient service across food counters, tables, and bar areas
• Take customer orders clearly and courteously, and relay them accurately to colleagues
• Serve meals and drinks, set and clear tables, and support general dining operations
• Operate tills and handle transactions confidently
• Assist with event catering, including buffets, formal dining, and refreshment stations
• Refill vending machines and maintain stock levels
• Clean and maintain kitchen and bar equipment, including coffee machines and fridges
• Keep public areas tidy, manage spills, and ensure a safe and pleasant environment
• Support chefs with basic food prep when needed
• Help promote the catering offer to visitors and the local community

What We're Looking For

• Basic literacy and numeracy skills to carry out daily tasks
• Previous experience in hospitality, food service, or bar work
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure
• Confidence in working independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• A commitment to delivering great customer service
• Must be 18 or older to meet legal requirements for alcohol service
