Our Food and Beverage Assistants help ensure smooth and efficient operation of our cafes and bars, providing a friendly experience for our customers

.

We are looking for additional team members to join us on a casual basis, to pick up shifts during busy periods and for absence cover.

With our cafes located at the Regional Pool and Tennis Centre (Newport International Sports Village) and the Riverfront Theatre & Arts Centre (Newport City Centre), which is also home to our bars, there are a variety of shifts available.

As some of the shifts will include bar work, we can only accept applications from those aged 18 years or over.

Main duties of the role include:

Serving and taking payment from customers Assisting in the preparation and presentation of food Serving hot and cold drinks at our cafes Serving alcoholic beverages at our bars Assisting with deliveries and storage Recording and storage of waste Assisting at special events as required Maintaining high standards of food health and safety, and hygiene
Ideally you will have experience of working in a hospitality environment, or experience of working in a busy customer-facing role with the enthusiasm to learn new skills.

Experience working in hospitality or customer-facing customer service Food hygiene certificate Payment handling / processing Comfortable working in a fast-paced and busy environment

Bar experience Experience working at large events NVQ qualification(s) relating to food/catering Ability to communicate in Welsh
Our cafes and bars can become busy, especially during events, so you will need to be comfortable working in a fast-paced and busy environment, whilst remaining calm and customer-focussed when under pressure.

Rate of Pay:

12.60 per hour (currentReal Living Wage)

Working Hours:

casual basis - available shifts will be published in advance for you to accept which you are available to commit to work. Shifts can cover early mornings, days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays. On occasion, shifts may become available at short notice, therefore your flexibility is appreciated.
