About us

Bluebell Dairy Ltd is a family run business in the Derbyshire countryside. We produce our own ice cream from our own cows milk and we have a farm park on site for families to visit.

Our aim is to welcome people into the countryside and offer a fantastic day out for everyone whilst also educating the public about farming. We are passionate about our ice cream and love to create fun and quirky ways of serving our product.

As we are a seasonal business, hours will vary throughout the year but the overall hours for the year will be 1950 in total

Purpose of the job:

To ensure that all catering front of house is managed and run efficiently To focus on the needs of the customer and presenting food to a high standard To pay close attention to targets, budgets, margins, daily takings and staffing levels in relation to the weather and any other influencing factors To maintain high standards of hygiene across the catering department and enforce disciplinary action of the hygiene procedures are not being adhered to To work closely with the Food & Beverage Manager to maintain high standards and positive customer experiences To lead by example and set a high standard for the rest of the department

Role and responsibilities:

In particular, the Food & Beverage Supervisor has the following duties and responsibilities:

Ensuring high standards of product, making sure that all members of the team are serving Coffees, Ice Cream, Cake, etc in the correct way Ensuring top quality service to every customer that comes through the door Training of new staff and on-going/refresher training with existing staff to ensure standards are maintained Liaising with Kitchen Team and Office to ensure all bookings are catered for Involvement in the hiring of front of house catering staff Ordering supplies in conjunction with the Cook and keeping to budgets Training, supervising, reviewing and motivating all members of their team Making sure cleaning is done well and that all team members are assisting Controlling wages margins by managing the rota to minimise issues - e.g. cancelling people before they arrive, sending staff home early Ensuring high standards of Food hygiene are met at all times, maintaining the 5 Star Rating and ensuring all paperwork is kept up to date. Ensuring that health and safety regulations are strictly observed, recorded and archived Opening up and making sure that checks are done and we are ready for customers by opening time Responsible for the external cabin when it is open Responsibility for keeping all catering areas tidy Monitoring the quality of the product and service provided To ensure smooth operation of the food and beverage department in the absence of the F&B Manager Any other duties that may be required by the business

Person specification

Experience

Experience working in a similar role/environment is preferred. Experience in a supervisory position is preferred A knowledge of food hygiene standards and allergens is preferred
