Your Role & Responsibilities:
Sort and organise incoming food donations according to expiry dates and storage requirements.
Assemble and pack food parcels according to staff instructions and standardised checklists.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation in all food storage and packing areas, in line with food hygiene procedures.
Help monitor stock levels and assist with food stock rotation to ensure items are used in order of expiry.
Label and categorise food items appropriately to support efficient packing and distribution by staff.
Maintain accurate records of stock movement, donations received and items used in parcel preparation.
Follow manual handling guidelines when lifting and moving food boxes.
Work closely with staff and other volunteers to ensure smooth and efficient behind-the-scenes operation of the Food Bank.
Participate in relevant training provided by The Roberts Centre, including safeguarding and health and safety.
Who We're Looking For:
Basic understanding of food hygiene or willingness to complete training.
Willingness to undertake relevant training (e.g. manual handling, safeguarding).
Ability to follow instructions and work safely.
Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Comfortable working in a back-of-house role without direct contact with service users.
Good communication skills and a helpful attitude.
Friendly, approachable, personable and honest.
Respectful of confidential and sensitive information.
Positive, respectful and helpful attitude.
Physically able to assist with lifting and manual tasks.
