Job Title: Food Retail Manager

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as a Chef/ Food Retail Manager for our thriving sushi kiosk business. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2-3 years of culinary experience, with a strong background in food preparation and a proven track record of leadership in a fast-paced food service environment. Sushi Knowledge/experience is preferred (but not essential)

Responsibilities:

1. Culinary Leadership:

- Oversee the entire sushi preparation process, ensuring the highest standards of quality and presentation.

- Execute and ensure sushi menu items are being followed.

- Maintain a keen understanding of culinary trends and incorporate them into the menu.

2. Team Management:

- Lead, train, and motivate kiosk staff to achieve optimal performance.

- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.

3. Operations Management:

- Take ownership of daily kiosk operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.

- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to maintain adequate stock.

- Implement and enforce health and safety standards in the kitchen.

4. Customer Experience:

- Ensure a consistently high level of customer satisfaction through exceptional food quality and service.

- Address customer feedback and implement improvements as needed.

- Work closely with staff to enhance overall customer experience.

5. Financial Management:

- Control food costs through effective inventory management and portion control.

- Collaborate with the management team to set and achieve financial targets.

- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

6. Production Development:

- Collaborate with the management team to update the sushi menu.

- Experiment with new techniques to keep the products fresh and appealing.

- Monitor sales and customer preferences to inform production adjustments.

Qualifications:

- 2-3 years minimum of experience as a chef/manager with a focus on food preparation.

- 1-2 years of experience in sushi preparation

- Proven leadership experience in a culinary setting.

- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

- Creativity and a passion for delivering exceptional culinary experiences.

Salary: 25000-29000 (based on experience)

Expected hours: 35-40 per week

Schedule:

- 6-10 hour shift

- Day shift, must be available on weekends.

- Must hold a valid driver's license and be able to commute across all our sites in South East Kent.
