We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Preparation Worker to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparation of sandwiches and other afternoon tea items, ensuring that ingredients are prepared efficiently and safely. This position is ideal for individuals with a passion for food and a desire to work in a dynamic kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and portion food items according to established recipes and standards. Assist in the preparation and assembling of afternoon tea items, ensuring quality and presentation meet our specifications. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure all food is handled, stored, and prepared safely. Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service. Participate in catering events as required, providing support in meal setup and service. Keep track of inventory levels of ingredients and report any shortages to management.

Skills

Previous experience in catering or restaurant settings is highly desirable. Strong culinary skills with a focus on meal preparation and food preparation techniques. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen environments. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues. Experience with various cooking methods and kitchen equipment is an advantage. A passion for food and a willingness to learn new skills within the culinary field.
