Job Description

Food Production Operative required on a temp to perm contract (initially 3 months with a view to position becoming permanent if viable).

Monday to Thursday - 4.30am to 12.30pm, Friday - 4.00am to 12.00pm.

Previous experience in a butchery/food production environment preferred.

Overview


We are seeking a dedicated Production Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of production equipment within a food manufacturing environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop technical skills and contribute to high-quality food production processes. Candidates should possess a strong understanding of food safety standards and mechanical knowledge, with an emphasis on maintaining strict hygiene and safety protocols. This position is essential for maintaining smooth production flow and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

Responsibilities



Operate and monitor various food production machinery, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards are maintained. Conduct routine inspections of equipment, identifying and reporting any malfunctions or irregularities promptly. Assist in the setup, changeover, and cleaning of machinery in accordance with food safety standards such as HACCP. Maintain accurate records of production data, including quantities produced, machine downtime, and quality checks. Follow strict hygiene protocols to prevent contamination, including sanitising equipment and work areas regularly. Support the implementation of food safety procedures throughout the production process. Collaborate with team members to meet daily production targets while adhering to health and safety regulations. Utilise basic maths skills for measurements, weighing ingredients, and adjusting process parameters as required.

Experience



Previous experience in food production or manufacturing environments is preferred but not essential; training will be provided. Knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety regulations is advantageous. Mechanical knowledge or experience with industrial machinery is desirable to facilitate troubleshooting and maintenance tasks. Basic mathematical skills are necessary for accurate measurements and quality control processes. Familiarity with food safety standards and good manufacturing practices (GMP) will be beneficial.
