Mon- sun hours between 6:30am-6:30pm (37.5 hours a week)

Pay:

12.21 - 20.95 per hour (shift dependant)

We are looking for two Food production Operatives to join our friendly team. You will be responsible for providing a catering and cleaning service within the Central Production Kitchen (CPU) and outlying catering outlets. You will also assist with the production of all meals with the Central Production Kitchen (CPU) and other outlying catering units within the department. All staff are required to provide a catering service in accordance with the Food Safety Regulations and Food Hygiene Regulations. You will have your main base of work on either campus, City Hospital or Queen's Medical Centre, however there may be occasions to cover another area.

Duties will include



Take receipt and unload all kitchen supplies deliveries, checking the items against the delivery quality standards and storing them appropriately.

Provide food production support to the catering team in the production of all foods whilst being aware of patients' special diets and to ensure that all special dietary needs/requests are followed.

Portion foods into the appropriate cooking vessels ready for cooking, chilling or blast freezing, seal and label food containers ready for cooking, chilling or blast freezing, observing portion control measures.

Receive/unload/cleaning of meal trolleys, and store in designated loading bay.

Load meal trolleys with foods in readiness for each meal service and deliver food to wards and departments as required.

Undertake all light and deep cleaning duties that may be required to ensure the smooth running of this busy catering operation.

You'll have the following skills/experience



Experience of working in a food production unit, hospital catering or similar catering operation essential.

Must have Level 2 Food Safety Certificate and Allergen training, knowledge of special diets preferred,

Must be able to read and record food safety information accurately.

Must be able to safely handle ingredients and products up to 25kg in weight.

Must be able to work in cold environments including freezer conditions.

Must be able to work at a fast-paced environment when required, where team work and flexibility is essential.

Cross-site working between City and Queens Medical Centre may be required.
