We currently recruiting for a Food Production Operative to join our team working at our facility in South Shields. The successful candidate will work in our Post Cook department ensuring a regular supply of products to our Retail and Wholesale customers.

As part of the role candidates will be required to use the vegetable processer to grate and slice vegetables. The role will also include mixing our batches of product, including family favourites such as Coleslaw and Cheese Savoury.

Job Responsibilities include:

To adhere and comply to all company Health and Safety policies and procedures to protect your own safety and that of your work colleagues.

To achieve the required targets for your area to ensure factory targets are consistently met.

To ensure that operating procedure and product specifications and recipes are adhered to at all times to produce a consistent and safe product for our customers.

To make sure stock is rotated, handled and stored correctly in accordance with our Factory Quality Manual Instructions.

To ensure that ingredients, packaging and product waste is kept to a minimum and that all waste is recorded. To ensure waste is segregated and disposed of as per Factory Quality Manual instructions.

To ensure good site practices are maintained. Follow a' clean as you go' procedure for your work area to ensure the site is 'audit ready' at all time

To maintain high personal standards of hygiene and follow the hygienic practices as laid down in the Factory Quality Manual and those required by law.

To ensure cleaning procedures are adhered to ensure required level of cleanliness of plant and equipment.

To undertake any training required to perform your duties and Ensure all Food Safety/ compliance paperwork relating to your duties is completed in an accurate and timely manner.

The role requires working in cold and wet environment, as well as routine lifting of raw materials up to 15kg. Candidates must be flexible, reliable and self-motivated and experience working in food production/manufacturing is desirable.

The role is permanent and full time with working hours of 06.00 till 14.00 Monday to Friday and extended working could be required depending on order size.
