We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Food Runner to join our dynamic hospitality team at Olive Tree Turkish Restaurant. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring smooth service delivery by efficiently transporting food from the kitchen to guests' tables. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about the hospitality industry and eager to develop their skills in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in food service or related roles is advantageous, but full training will be provided. The role involves working in a professional setting where attention to detail, excellent communication, and guest service skills are essential.
Duties
Safely and promptly deliver prepared dishes from the kitchen to guests' tables, ensuring presentation standards are maintained.
Assist kitchen staff with food preparation and plating as needed, supporting overall restaurant operations.
Ensure all food items are correctly labelled and verified before delivery to prevent errors.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of service stations and dining areas throughout shifts.
Collaborate with servers, chefs, and management to provide seamless guest experiences.
Handle guest requests courteously and efficiently, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette when necessary.
Support with basic meal preparation tasks during busy periods, adhering to food safety standards.
Monitor food quality during transport to ensure dishes arrive at the correct temperature and presentation standards.
Skills
Previous experience in hospitality, restaurant service, or food delivery is preferred.
Knowledge of food preparation, cooking, and meal presentation techniques.
Experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role involving transportation of goods is advantageous.
Strong understanding of food safety regulations and practices within a culinary environment.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with guests and team members.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
Organised with good time management skills to ensure timely delivery of orders.
Friendly demeanour with guest services experience, including serving and handling guest requests courteously.
