We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Food Safety & Quality Auditor (Night shift hours) to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of food quality and safety. This position requires a strong understanding of quality assurance processes, as well as the ability to record and analyse data effectively. The role will be responsible for conducting audits and inspections, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, including HACCP.
Duties
Responsible for working safely without risk to self or colleagues, ensuring adherence to all mandatory Site Health and Safety and PPE controls.
Assist Operations management with the updating and training of Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work.
Responsible for conducting Food Safety and Quality system audits and inspections of Site and ancillary facilities.
Completion of site/ ancillary premises audits, including but not limited to GMP, Food safety and quality compliance, CCP's, Hygiene, Fabrication and Pest control.
Raise and escalate food safety and quality issues ensuring clear and effective communication with relevant parties.
Carry out routine processes such as, but not limited to, temperature monitoring, environmental / hygiene swabbing.
Provide support to the wider site FSQA team with food safety and quality issues.
Maintain up to date and accurate records (including computerised/digital) on production, food safety data and analyse this data to identify trends, problems and opportunities for improvement.
Ensuring compliance with Company FSQMS Standard Operating Procedures and instructions.
Develop and Implement food quality improvement strategies and initiatives collaborating with cross-functional teams, identifying areas for improvement.
Coordinate and participate in external audits to assess compliance to relevant food safety & quality standards, legal and regulatory requirements, and third party/ customer specifications.
Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to establish and maintain a robust supplier approval and monitoring process.
Analyse and respond to customer feedback and complaints: identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
Provide guidance and training to employees on Food Safety and Quality awareness, processes, principles, techniques, standards, and food safety practices.
Co-ordinate training needs for self with Technical Management, participating in regular training planning reviews as appropriate.
There may be a requirement from time to time to provide flexibility around working hours, depending on business needs.
Essential Criteria:
Proven experience in a Technical / QA role, preferably within a food production /Pharmaceutical Environment, or Degree in Food related discipline.
Strong understanding of HACCP principles and their application in quality management.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
Strong computer skills. Proficient in MS Office.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present findings clearly.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Desirable Criteria:
HACCP Level 2 Qualification.
Food Safety Level 2 Qualification.
Proficient in Managing Customer's Technical Portals (Erudus, Opri, etc).
Experience of Sage 200 in a production environment.
