GB Poultry Ltd is a Poultry processing factory here in Crossgar, Co. Down, Northern Ireland. We seek to recruit a Quality Technician/ Quality Assurance (QA or QC) person to join our growing team. We process Flash Fried, Raw poultry and supply our product's all over Ireland. This position is new to our business and has potential to grow within the company.
The position is part time to start 20-30hrs per week and all day shift. Im flexable to start and finish times and days worked.
This job role is based on site in our factory in Crossgar, Co. Down, Northern Ireland BT30 9DG so you must live within driving distance.
Key Responsibilities:
NOTE: This role can be full time or part time.
Daily verification of all CCPs (cooking, cooling, freezing, etc.)
Daily temperature checks of all production rooms, chills, blast, cold store and products
Daily quality checks on all ingredients, WIP materials and finished products to ensure correct quality and traceability
Check grades, weights and quality meets our high standards.
Making sure staff are packing to product specs.
Day to day HACCP checks.
Keep our HACCP up to date.
Keep records of all products and specs up to date.
Complete Daily GMP walk around production area and highlight any non- conformances to the supervisor/charge-hand/manager.
Responsible for placing any non-conforming product On Hold/Restricted Use/Condemned and completing relevant On Hold Log
Completing of Daily/Monthly/Quarterly Glass & Hard Plastic Audits
Verify finished product labels and crate/case end labels to ensure correct Use By Date
Cleaning is carried out to set standards to ensure there are no food or allergen residues present in critical areas.
PPE required for the tasks carried out is worn at all times
Completion of GMP Audits
Completion of Hygiene & Fabrication Audits
Complete equipment calibrations e.g. temperature probe, pH meters and sieves
Completion of Corrective Action Reports for any non-conforming products or incidents to ensure effective close out identifying root cause and corrective actions
Collection and storage of all retained product samples
Complete specific allergen room swabbing release/product testing
Train staff on the floor, doing induction training, ensuring all staff have completed Level 2.
Keeping approved supplier records up to date.
Ensuring all product labelling is up to standard, reviewing these twice a year.
Any other reasonable tasks related to position as deemed suitable by QA Team Leader
Essential Criteria:
Minimum of three years' experience in Food Industry
Knowledge of Food Safety Principles/Good Manufacturing Practices
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Good verbal & written communication Skills (High standard of English essential)
Flexible approach to working hours to cover needs of the business
Reliable and strong work ethic with attention to detail
