Make a Real Difference in Your Community
We are currently recruiting a Food Service Assistant to join our team at a unique site in Bath, where Aramark UK supports a charity working with individuals experiencing homelessness. This is more than just a job - it's an opportunity to give back while enjoying a healthy work/life balance and the freedom to be creative in a kitchen that focuses on care, not speed.
You will play a vital role in preparing and serving nutritious, home-cooked meals to up to 28 residents each day. The role allows for flexibility and creativity in menu planning, with a strong emphasis on quality, consistency, and compassion.
This is a calm, supportive environment -- not a high-pressure kitchen. You'll be working with a close-knit team to serve those who need it most, and your work will have a visible, positive impact on people's lives.
What You'll Be Doing:
Assisting with the preparation and service of breakfast and dinner in a canteen-style setting
Following menus while having the flexibility to create fresh, home-style meals
Serving meals and engaging with residents in a respectful and friendly manner
Monitoring food levels during service and ensuring food safety standards are upheld
Cleaning workstations and dining areas, following health and safety protocols
Rotating stock and ensuring storerooms are clean and organised
Supporting the wider kitchen team with general duties
What We're Looking For:
Some food service or catering experience is desirable (training provided)
Level 2 Food Hygiene is ideal but can be completed via our e-learning platform
A calm, empathetic and resilient individual with a people-first attitude
Ability to work sensitively and respectfully with individuals from all backgrounds
Strong teamwork skills and an understanding of the importance of cleanliness and safety in a kitchen environment
Why Join Us?
13.50 per hour, plus double pay on Bank Holidays and overtime opportunities
24 hours per week across 3 days (11:00am - 6:00pm shifts), including weekends
Free meal on shift and free onsite parking
Join a team making a real social impact
Access to our Employee Benefits Portal - discounts on supermarkets, high street brands, and more
Company benefits include life assurance, pension contributions, and term-time only contracts
Excellent career progression - we love to promote from within
Access to apprenticeship schemes and ongoing training
About the Site:
You'll be working at a Christian Charity life house supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, addiction, mental health issues, and those with experience in the criminal justice system. This is a rewarding and impactful role where you'll be part of something meaningful every day.
Apply now and be part of a team that cooks with care and serves with heart.
All applications will be treated in the strictest confidence.
