Food Service Assistant

Belfast City, NI - Part Time (30h) - Permanent

What you'll do:

Assist with the preparation, presentation, and service of food in line with company standards and HACCP guidelines Deliver excellent customer service, creating a friendly and welcoming environment Carry out cashier duties accurately and efficiently Maintain cleanliness of counters, tables, condiments, and all service areas Support with stock rotation and safe storage of goods (first in, first out) Ensure equipment is used safely, maintained, and faults reported promptly Monitor and record fridge/freezer/hot cupboard temperatures in line with food safety standards Follow company and statutory policies including Health & Safety, food hygiene, COSHH, and emergency procedures

What you'll bring:

Previous experience working in a catering or hospitality team (preferred but not essential) Excellent communication and customer service skills with a positive, approachable attitude Ability to adapt to a standards-driven, compliance-focused environment Strong teamwork skills, working effectively and professionally with colleagues and customers Willingness to learn, receive training, and continuously improve service standards High personal hygiene, professional appearance, and adherence to uniform requirements A proactive mindset with the ability to take initiative and handle incidents responsibly Reliability, flexibility, and commitment to delivering consistent, high-quality service
