JOB TITLE: Food Service assistant (FSA) HOURS: 20 hours BAND: \xc2\xa310.68 per hour RESPONSIBLE TO: Catering Manager ACCOUNTABLE TO: Health, Safety and Estate manager We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our catering team. We are looking for a friendly, flexible and driven person to help us provide meals to our patients. St Luke\xe2\x80\x99s is an adult hospice based in Winsford that cares for people in mid and south Cheshire who are suffering from cancer and other life threatening illnesses. We offer specialist treatment, care, advice and support to many seriously ill people and their families every year. PURPOSE: \xc2\xb7 To support the cook in providing a high standard of catering that suits the general and individual needs of the patients in Day Hospice and on the In Patient Unit. Serving patient meals and ensuring the patient dining rooms are set up. With a requirement through supporting the various departments of the Hospice and function commitments that provides an income stream for the Hospice. Key working relationships Internal \xc2\xb7 Health ,safety and estates \xc2\xb7 Catering Manager \xc2\xb7 Facilities Team \xc2\xb7 Various departments throughout the Hospice External \xc2\xb7 Food Suppliers Key Tasks and Responsibilities \xc2\xb7 To assist in preparing, cooking and serving food that suits the need of the patients. \xc2\xb7 To provide patients, staff, relatives and visitors to the Hospice with a comfortable and clean environment to take meals. \xc2\xb7 To support the various departments with catering requirements. \xc2\xb7 To note and advise on menu choice, for patients, staff and visitors. To support clinical team in all areas in serving meals in all areas of hospice and to serve meals to staff and guests in the canteen. \xc2\xb7 To provide a flexible meal service that meets the needs of the patients and all Hospice personnel. \xc2\xb7 To ensure Hospice procedures and policies are adhered to in regard of carrying out tasks, by all catering staff. \xc2\xb7 Ensure that all Legislative procedures are carried out. \xc2\xb7 To ensure a high standard of cleanliness throughout the department is maintained. \xc2\xb7 To maintain personal and professional development requirements in line with the Hospice training and development policy. \xc2\xb7 To undertake any reasonable request by hospice Management not covered by Job the Description This job description is not exhaustive and is subject to review in conjunction with the post holder and according to future changes/developments in the service.
