Job Description

We're looking for amotivated and reliable Food Services Assistant to join our team in Wirral.You'll help prepare and serve delicious food while maintaining high standardsof cleanliness, safety, and customer service. You'll also support the smoothrunning of the kitchen and front-of-house areas to make sure every customer hasa great experience.
What You'll Do
Food Preparation & Service

  • Prepare, cook, and present food for breakfast, vending, and hospitality services to a high standard.
  • Follow recipes and company procedures to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Know the menu and understand allergens, ingredients, and flavours in all dishes.
  • Keep your work area clean, tidy, and well-organised.
  • Serve customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Operate the EPOS till system when required.
  • Keep front-of-house and dining areas clean, tidy, and well-stocked at all times.
Food Quality & Hygiene
  • Make sure all food preparation, cooking, and service follow Sodexo and statutory hygiene, health, and safety standards.
  • Complete all required temperature and cleaning documentation accurately.
  • Store and rotate stock correctly (first in, first out).
  • Report any issues with food quality, deliveries, or hygiene to your line manager.
  • Use PPE and follow COSHH and HACCP procedures.
Teamwork & Communication
  • Work as part of a team to deliver a smooth and efficient service.
  • Support colleagues during busy periods and cover different areas when needed.
  • Take part in daily huddles, weekly meetings, and regular reviews.
  • Communicate clearly with team members and customers.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, colleagues, and customers.
Customer Service
  • Provide excellent service and a helpful attitude at all times.
  • Handle customer requests and feedback professionally.
  • Escalate complaints or issues to your line manager when needed.
What We're Looking For
  • A recognised catering qualification and a valid Food Safety Certificate.
  • Previous experience in a busy kitchen or catering environment.
  • Passion for good food and high standards of quality.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to follow health, safety, and hygiene procedures.
  • A positive attitude, good teamwork skills, and the ability to work without constant supervision.
