Job title: Food and Beverage Attendant

Reports to: Food & Beverage Manager/Supervisor on duty

Overall responsibility:

Ensuring that the Restaurant Area and any other areas under your charge are maintained to a standard expected by Customers and the Organisation and that the Customers receive the standard of service they expect responsible to the Food and Beverage Manager.

Main duties of post:

Maintaining a safe and secure work environment, maintaining personal hygiene, following procedures designed to protect customers visitors and staff and identifying potential security risks and securing all customer and staff areas and storage facilities.

Maintaining and dealing with payments, ensuring sufficient cash and stationery is available, making the contents of the payment point available for collection, entering relevant data at the payment point, informing the customer of the amount, acknowledging receipt of payment and placing in a secure location.

Creating and maintaining effective working relationships by passing on information and meeting commitments to other members of staff as well as contributing to a pleasant working environment.

Displaying customer care skills by using contact with internal and external customers, positively communicating with customers and passing on correct information and being aware of the organisation's complaints procedure.

Providing a table/tray service including greeting and seating customers, answering questions, taking orders, serving orders and maintaining the area by clearing away crockery, cutlery and maintaining the level of condiments.

Preparing and clearing areas for table service by checking stock areas and ensuring waste food containers are ready for use as well as preparing customer and dining areas, laying up tables and checking condiments, finally clearing areas after service by stacking cutlery for cleaning and checking that service equipment such as hot plates are clean and are switched off.

Providing a table service by greeting and seating customers, giving accurate information about dishes, taking orders, serving, and providing the correct items such as cutlery and condiments; maintaining dining and service areas by dealing with spillages and breakages, replacing table linen and removing left over food items.

Preparing and serving wines by checking equipment e.g. corkscrews and ice buckets, promoting bottled wines to customers, providing information about bottled wines, taking orders and presenting wines and serving at the correct temperature.

Providing a carvery /buffet service by arranging crockery, cutlery and napkins and serving at the carvery /buffet; portioning food and using the correct service style, keeping dining areas clean by clearing tables and dealing with spillages.

Providing Silver service for various foods including soups, sauces, bread rolls and potatoes, meat, poultry, vegetables and sweets also clearing finished courses including cutlery, crockery and other table items such as ashtrays and glassware.

Providing a table drink service by greeting customers and identifying needs, offering the correct accompaniments and promoting drinks at all appropriate times as well as giving information about drinks and clearing tables.

Preparing and serving hot drinks by preparing specialist equipment, preparing and serving hot beverages and giving accurate information; maintaining drink making equipment and checking stock levels.

In addition to the above duties you may be required from time to time, at the discretion of the Manager to complete other duties within your capabilities.

Pay: 7.55-12.21 per hour
