We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join a premier team of at the , Royal Air Force (RAF) Lakenheath, United Kingdom.

What will be your primary role?



We are looking for someone with some knowledge and experience of working as a Food Service Worker, to be responsible for serving as a delicatessen/bakery assistant, helping in the preparation, presentation and serving of specialist meats, delicacies, preserved foods, cheeses, salads, breads and sweets to patrons.

You will be responsible weighing, wrapping and pricing selected food items on plates trays and in bags, using prepared ingredients, making hot and/or cold sandwiches, fruit and vegetable trays, salads and rotisserie chicken. You will perform duties to include measuring and mixing ingredients as directed and decorating breads, rolls, pastries, cakes and other bakery items, and taking payments from customers. You will also receive and unload trucks and stock take.

What are the Key Skills required for this role?



1. Knowledge of basic arithmetic in order to count number of trays/tables required, to determine number of servings a container will yield, and to count change when required to perform cashier duties.

2. Working knowledge of food service sanitation standards including procedures to prevent contamination, spoilage, and waste.

3. Ability to concentrate on work assignments despite interruptions and distractions.

4. Ability to do tasks with several steps and to follow established sequences of tasks without more than normal supervision.

5. Ability to use and maintain food service tools and equipment such as knives, mechanical dishwasher, and powered cleaning equipment.

6. Ability to learn food service safety regulations, practices, and procedures.

7. Ability to read and understand simple signs, names of food items, and instructions.

What are the conditions of employment for this role?



1. You will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules and regulations.

2. You may be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft, and you may also be required to travel to the US or other country, in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training, this position may also be coded as mission essential.

3. You will be required to complete a 6-month probationary period.

4. Overtime may be required, and you may be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the incumbent.

5. You must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

7. You may also be required to work weekends and/or holidays.

8. You must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.

9. You will be required to pass a pre-employment physical at RAF Lakenheath.

10. Your hours of work will be 39 hours per week on an as rostered schedule (this will be working any 5 days out of 7) between the hours of 0600-1930 where start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with the organization's flexible working policies.

You will require a security clearance and a right to work in the UK.
