Review, scrutinise, and evaluate the product specifications, formulation and the process flow for HFA certificated clients or any other food manufacturer as instructed by the Certification Manager, or the CEO, for compliance with HFA halal standard in vogue
Carry out necessary investigations as to the manufacturing processes, ingredients or processing aids used in the production subject to halal certification
Request the necessary information from the clients with a view to process certification requests and to conclude decisions from the clients
Report your findings to the Certification and Audit Manager, and also to the CEO (if specifically required).
Communicate the certification or product approval decision to the clients once the approval or respective decision is authorised by the Certification Manager or the CEO.
Obtain a statement from the clients that they do not handle/process pork or porcine materials on processing facility
Plan and arrange visits to the HFA certificated plants or any other manufacturing or slaughtering/portioning plants in line with the instructions of the line manager
Audit planning and execution must be carried out strictly in compliance with HFA Audit Protocol
Evaluate and assess the compliance of product/species, manufacturing processes and supply chain (if applicable) with HFA halal standard in vogue
Identify non-conformances at the audit (if any) and suggest and agree corrective actions with pre-determined and specified time frames (if applicable/required) at the closing meeting with the client with regular follow up
Write audit reports for submission to the line manager or in his absence, to the Certification Manager in line with the HFA Audit Protocol
Assist clients in formulating Halal SOPs
Research, enquire and / or verify clients' supply chain, their certifications and any relevant aspect (as far as practicably possible) that is required as a part of your post audit work, and report the outcomes to the line manager in good time
Assist and liaise with food technologists and admin staff (whenever required) to facilitate efficient and timely completion of the audit and certification process
Co-ordinate with the rest of the team on relevant operational and technical issues associated with the clients
Other duties as assigned by the Certification Manager, the CEO or the Chairman
