We are looking for a passionate and commercially driven
Food To Go Area Manager
to oversee and grow our Food To Go operations across multiple retail stores. This role will focus on deli counters, in-store food preparation, and our own-brand range of ready meals, butchery range, and packaged products. You will ensure consistent quality, compliance, and profitability, while leading teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
Oversee daily Food To Go operations across multiple stores, including deli counters, hot and cold food preparation, and packaged own-brand products.
Ensure consistent implementation of food safety, hygiene, and quality standards in line with company policies and legal requirements.
Monitor compliance with labelling, allergen, and nutritional information regulations.
Drive operational efficiency, minimising waste and maximising profitability.
Commercial Performance
Manage sales, margins, and stock across the Food To Go category to achieve budgeted targets.
Analyse performance reports to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
Work with central teams to develop and implement promotions, seasonal ranges, and product launches.
Ensure high product availability and merchandising standards across all stores.
People Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop store-level Food To Go teams, ensuring strong performance and engagement.
Deliver training in food safety, operational standards, and customer service.
Support recruitment, onboarding, and succession planning for Food To Go staff.
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Customer Experience
Ensure all stores deliver excellent customer service and consistent brand standards.
Monitor product presentation, quality, and freshness to exceed customer expectations.
Respond to and resolve customer queries and complaints in a timely, professional manner.
Innovation & Growth
Work closely with product development teams to refine and expand our Food To Go offering.
Keep up to date with market trends and competitor activity to maintain a competitive edge.
Identify opportunities for new products, improved processes, and sales growth.
Skills & Experience
Essential
Proven experience in management within food retail, convenience, or hospitality.
Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and allergen management (HACCP training desirable).
Excellent leadership skills with experience developing and managing diverse teams.
Commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, sales targets, and KPIs.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Desirable
Experience with own-brand or in-store food production.
Knowledge of supply chain and stock management in a retail food environment.
Ability to innovate and adapt to changing customer trends.
