About First Kick Foundation

First Kick Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation committed to improving physical and mental wellbeing through accessible sport, health, and enrichment programmes. The Foundation employs a dedicated team of Health and Wellbeing specialists, Education Tutors, Youth Workers and Sports Coaches, who come together in order to identify and reduce inequalities within communities the Foundation serves.

First Kick Foundations reach and support offer within communities is co-developed with communities, in order to meet their bespoke needs and aspirations, supporting both young people and adults alike to realise and achieve their goals.

Role Overview

As a Football-Based Mentor, you will deliver structured, football-focused behaviour change programmes to adults and young people across multiple locations in Greater Manchester. You will engage with often disengaged and hard-to-reach individuals, supporting them to develop confidence, resilience, life skills, and the ability to integrate positively into society.

This role requires the ability to travel independently across Greater Manchester, delivering place-based sessions in community venues aligned to Wellbeing Hub locations and wider First Kick Foundation delivery sites. A hands-on, energetic, and flexible approach is essential to meet the needs of service users across different localities.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver structured, football-based personal development sessions tailored to adults and young people, across various Greater Manchester locations.

Provide one-to-one mentoring to support individual progression, assessing vulnerabilities and developing tailored personal development plans.

Facilitate workshops and activities that build:

o Mental and physical resilience

o Confidence, communication, and leadership skills

o Problem-solving, teamwork, and community integration

Support participants to access education, training, employment, and community support networks.

Monitor and report on participant engagement, progression, and outcomes.

Collaborate with Wellbeing Hub partners, probation staff, and external organisations to maximise engagement and impact.

Work with stakeholders and partners alike in order to ensure that suitable levels of referrals into the programme are being achieved, where required acting as an ambassador for the programme, prompting its impact and reach with key referral partners.

Liaise and collaborate with key delivery partners in order to ensure that all project delivery and impact data is being accurately recorded, in line with partner requirements.

Ensure all sessions are delivered safely, inclusively, and in line with safeguarding and health & safety policies.

Person Specification

Essential:

Experience delivering structured activities or programmes for adults and young people in community, probation, or rehabilitation settings.

Ability to motivate participants through football and physical activity.

Understanding of safeguarding, health & safety, and risk management.
