At Essex Professional Coaching, we're looking for enthusiastic and driven football centre head coaches who want to share their love of the game while helping young players grow in confidence, skill, and character.

Since 2017, we've delivered high-quality football coaching to thousands of children on a weekly basis through our football coaching programmes at venues across Essex.

Introduce children to the game in a fun, engaging, and inclusive way Inspire a lifelong love of football through weekly sessions Provide pathways for talented players to progress onto our academy programme
We're now looking for

passionate head coaches

to join our team and play a leading role in leading our team to deliver fun, engaging, and inclusive sessions that not only develop football ability but also spark excitement every time a child steps onto the pitch.

The Role



As a Football Centre Head Coach with Essex Professional Coaching, you'll be at the heart of inspiring children both on and off the pitch. Your responsibilities will include:

Leading, training and support our coaching team

to ensure players are supported appropriately and to that high quality coaching standards are maintained

Supporting with the marketing and promotion

of your centre to enhance engagement in the community

Responsibility for the health and safety

of all involved in the delivery of your centre, ensuring attendance records are updated appropriately

Encouraging and inspiring players

to build confidence, develop skills, and fall in love with the game

Providing feedback and support

to children and parents about development and progress

Fostering a positive and inclusive environment

where every child and coach feels valued and motivated

Being a role model

who demonstrates passion, enthusiasm, and care at every session

Reporting to our Head of Football

to deliver feedback on the coaching team, attendees and the continuous development of the centre

Creating and leading engaging sessions

that follow our coaching syllabus and bring football to life for ages 4-12

What We're Looking For



We're searching for head coaches who bring both passion and professionalism to the role.

Personal qualities:



Love working with children and have a genuine passion for football Motivated, reliable, and committed to delivering high-quality sessions Strong communicator with children, parents, and colleagues Able to inspire, encourage, and develop players in a fun, positive way Organised and confident managing groups of children

Skills & experience:



Experience coaching or working with children aged 4-12 (required)

Minimum FA Level 2 Coaching qualification (required)

First Aid, Safeguarding, and Enhanced DBS (required)

Familiarity with the local football community in Essex (desirable) Previous experience in leading and mentoring other coaches (desirable) UEFA C Licence / UEFA B Licence (desirable) Sports Coaching or Physical Education degree/diploma (desirable)

The Selection Process



We want to get to know the real you, so our process is friendly and supportive:

Telephone Interview

- an informal chat to discuss the role and your coaching experience

Practical Session

- plan and deliver a football activity based on an objective we provide

Final Interview

- a conversation about your suitability, goals, and next steps
If successful, you'll receive a job offer by phone, followed by email confirmation. We'll then get you set up with kit, resources, and a full induction so you're ready to hit the ground running.
