Kings Heath Sports FC provide grassroots football pathways for children and young people in Birmingham. We're passionate about developing both players and coaches--over the past year, at least five of our coaches have progressed into professional academies, including Aston Villa, Birmingham City (Blues), Wolves, and Coventry FC.
The Role:
We're looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Football Team Coach to join our team. This paid, part-time role involves running training sessions during the week (on a 3G pitch) and, if you wish, managing a team on Sundays for matches (matches are paid as well).
What makes us different?
All training sessions are mapped out in advance with our season-long training syllabus, covering all ages in the club. You don't have to stick to it rigidly--creativity and your own coaching style are encouraged!
Management Structure:
We want you to focus entirely on the kids and your coaching.
A dedicated team secretary manages all fixtures, contact with opposition, kit, referees, and admin
An assistant coach looks after parent communication
You focus on delivering quality sessions and supporting player development
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging, high-quality training sessions for your team
Optionally manage your team during Sunday matches (not a requirement; matches are paid as well)
Foster a positive, supportive environment that puts player development and enjoyment first
Communicate clearly with players and club staff
Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health & safety, and club values
What We Offer:
Paid part-time coaching role (plus payment for matches if you wish to manage a team on Sundays)
Ongoing support, CPD, and mentoring from experienced UEFA/FA qualified coaches
Clear pathway for career progression--recent coaches have moved to Aston Villa, Blues, Wolves, Coventry FC, and more
Access to excellent facilities and equipment
Management support so you can focus on coaching
Chance to make a real impact on young players' football journeys
What We're Looking For:
Minimum FA Level 1 (Introduction to Coaching Football); ideally UEFA-C
Experience working with children or young people in football or sports
Strong communication and organisational skills
Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare (DBS check required)
Passion for developing players of all abilities
