Job Description

Knowlsey Surfacing are currently recruiting for an experienced working Foreman who can demonstrate a proven background in Tarmac / Surfacing.

The foreman will play an integral part in making sure projects run smoothly by working closely with Contracts Managers and ensuring work is completed to standard, on time, and within budget. Key responsibilities include managing and motivating teams, enforcing strict Health and Safety procedures, coordinating with other departments and clients, ordering materials.

Daily review of gangs productivity and ensuring compliance of job and allowances allowed with the pricing document.

Key Responsibilities

Team Management

:
Supervise and develop site teams, motivate them to achieve high performance, and conduct toolbox talks to ensure safety and project goals are communicated.

Health and Safety

:
Champion Health and Safety policies, monitor compliance on site, conduct risk assessments, and manage site hazards to ensure a zero-accident environment.

Operational Oversight

:
Manage the planning, preparation, and laying of asphalt and other materials, overseeing the quality and efficiency of operations.

Client & Project Management

:
Ensure projects meet client requirements, specifications, and contractual targets, and manage relationships with clients and other stakeholders.

Ensure that all work meets company and contract standards and that quality procedures are adhered to.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

Proven experience in road laying, asphalt, and similar environments. Strong leadership and previous foreman or supervisor experience is essential Excellent communication skills to liaise with team members, clients, and various levels of seniority. Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures and legislation, potentially holding certifications like CSCS and SSTS / SMSTS Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing site conditions. Must be able to drive with a driving license
