Are you a highly motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse who enjoys supporting the care of people with a Learning Disability and Mental Health needs?



We are seeking kind and enthusiastic individuals to join our multi-disciplinary forensic team to improve people's quality of life whilst developing skills to return to the community.



Evenlode Ward is a 10 bedded, medium secure service for males with a learning disability, mental health & forensic needs . We deliver individualised, specialist care which is tailored to improve the quality of life for individuals accessing our service within the principals of strength based care, utilising the 'Good Lives' model of care which is focused on Positive Behavioural Support.



We are committed to developing nurses professionally and personally in their career goals whilst improving health and wellbeing outcomes for the individuals we support and their families.



The ward has a fully established multidisciplinary team with lots of experience and welcomes innovative nurses to continue in the delivery of excellent care in line with best practice. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care with men with learning disabilities who are currently inpatients on a medium secure ward.

Provide high quality, holistic nursing care to men with learning disabilities and their families/ carers, using a collaborative and inclusive approach.

Be responsible for the co-ordination and management of the ward for a span of duty, including meal preparation.

Assist in every aspect of the management of an inpatient ward for men with learning disabilities including accessing leave in the community.

Key Nurse responsibilities supporting patients with the development of care plans, risk assessments and reports which are accessible to their needs.

Lead shifts and work alongside nursing colleagues and wider MDT to maintain the safety and security of a medium secure service.



It is mandatory for you to complete training in relation to managing violence & aggression which includes PEACE Training. Other training is available to support your role .



You will be required to work a rotating shift pattern to cover our 24 hour, 7 day a week service. Shifts include a range of early, late and night shifts. 1 long day per week can be requested. We do not offer fixed nights or exclude nights from the working pattern.



Please note if you are based outside of the UK you will need to be fully qualified, have already passed your OSCE and have an NMC pin number in order to be considered for this role.
