Role overview
This role sits within FRP's Forensic Accounting team in Belfast and involves leading and managing a variety of forensic engagements across both investigations and dispute-related matters. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality forensic services, supporting clients through complex financial investigations, litigation, and disputes.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and lead forensic accounting engagements, including coordination of internal teams, external stakeholders, and clients
Scope and define issues for investigation, identifying relevant sources of information and requesting appropriate documentation
Contribute to the development of case strategy and approach
Prepare and evaluate damages and quantum of claim calculations
Draft written findings including investigation reports, advisory notes, and expert witness reports
Utilise relevant technology and software platforms, including e-discovery tools, to drive efficiencies
Manage a portfolio of cases effectively, ensuring deadlines and resource requirements are met
Prepare budgets and monitor time costs, ensuring financial control across engagements
Support the running of the practice through involvement in compliance, learning and development, innovation, and pastoral care
Act as a line manager, providing feedback, mentoring, and coaching to team members
Undertake business development, marketing, and networking activities to support growth of the practice
Qualifications
Essential:
Recognised accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
Proven experience in leading and supervising forensic accounting teams
Strong ability to delegate, review work, and guide team members
Skilled in balancing high-level strategic thinking with attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to identify key issues and areas requiring further investigation
Strong client relationship management and communication skills
Experience in business planning and strategic delivery
Flexible and adaptable approach to working
Desirable:
Additional qualifications such as ACFE, expert witness training, blockchain analytics, or Relativity certifications
Foreign language skills
Legal background or experience working alongside legal teams
Knowledge of insolvency proceedings and litigation
