Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, load, and unload materials within our warehouse and onto trailers located in our open yard area . This role requires a keen understanding of warehouse management systems and a commitment to safety and efficiency in all operations.

Duties

Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to load and unload materials from lorries and storage areas. Manage inventory using warehouse management systems to ensure accurate tracking of materials. Perform routine equipment checks and maintenance, demonstrating mechanical knowledge for minor repairs as needed. Handle heavy lifting tasks while adhering to safety protocols to prevent injuries. Assist in shipping and receiving processes, ensuring materials are correctly sorted and stored. Maintain a clean and organised work environment, promoting safety and efficiency within the warehouse. Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow and meet operational targets.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or similar role within a warehouse environment. Valid forklift certification is essential. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs. Proficient in basic maths for inventory management tasks. Experience with materials handling, shipping, and receiving processes is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and effectively. Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills. A proactive approach to safety and adherence to all operational procedures.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From 12.60 per hour

Expected hours: 48 - 60 per week
