Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to efficiently manage the movement of goods within our warehouse. This role requires a keen attention to detail, a strong understanding of warehouse operations, and the ability to perform heavy lifting as part of daily tasks.

Responsibilities

- Operate forklifts (counter balance & pivot steer) and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload goods from lorries and containers, ensuring proper handling techniques are followed.
- Manage inventory using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track stock levels and movements.
- Perform routine checks on equipment, reporting any issues for repair or maintenance.
- Assist in shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate documentation of all transactions.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to optimise warehouse operations and improve efficiency.

Experience

- Proven experience in materials handling within a warehouse environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with forklift operation and relevant certifications is essential.
- Basic maths skills for inventory management and documentation purposes.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
