Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a Counterbalance License and preferably experienced in pivot steer. Experience of a pallet network operation and be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to facilitate the efficient movement of goods within our warehouse and yard. Experience of loading curtain side trailers and use of hand held scanners is essential. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations and a commitment to safety protocols.

There are two shifts available

The hours for the day shift role are 06:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday

The hours for the night shift role are 03:00 to 12:00 Tuesday to Saturday

Duties

Operate forklifts and other equipment for loading and unloading materials from lorries. Handle materials with care, adhering to safety guidelines to prevent damage or injury. Maintain an organised warehouse environment, including proper storage of materials and equipment. Conduct routine pre use inspections and basic repairs on equipment to ensure optimal functionality. Utilise a Warehouse Management System (WMS) for tracking inventory levels and managing stock movements. Assist in heavy lifting tasks as required, ensuring that all lifting techniques are performed safely.

Skills

Strong mechanical knowledge related to forklift operation and equipment maintenance. Proficient in materials handling techniques, ensuring safe and efficient movement of goods. Familiarity with warehouse management systems for effective inventory tracking. Ability to perform basic maths for accurate record keeping and inventory management. Capability to lift heavy items safely, following proper lifting protocols. Previous experience operating forklifts is essential; relevant certifications are preferred.
