Specific job tasks or activities
Adherence to safe working practices and health and safety instructions.
Complete the daily safety check sheet ensuring the forklift truck to be used is safe and in good working order prior to use. Immediately report any defects to management and do not use the forklift truck if defective.
Loading and unloading of vehicles in a safe, timely and efficient manner.
Keep the yard in a clean state, if you drop or see items on the floor immediately stop, pick them up and place in the appropriate container.
Ensure safe, accessible stacking of stock within the warehouse is in place, maximising space where possible.
Ensure accurate weights of incoming goods are recorded.
Breaking down of Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment (WEEE) into component parts.
Placing all material from vans into appropriate containers.
Labelling, weighing, and noting all full containers ready for collection/delivery.
Assisting to unload vans and placing all material into appropriate containers under instruction from Team Leader/Site Supervisor.
Carrying out reasonable instructions from the leadership team.
Job includes lifting and manual handling.
As workload dictates, at quiet times you will be required to work as a Recycling Operative within the warehouse.
Qualifications
Mandatory
A valid forklift qualification
A minimum of 1-2 years of relevant forklift experience
Must be comfortable with manual handling
Must be able to reliably commute to the Thetford site daily
Desired
Experience of working within the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment industry.
Able to work weekend and bank holidays.
