Overview

We are seeking a Certified Diesel Counterbalance (B1) Forklift Operator to join our team in our Timber Treatment Facility at Baltic Wharf, Rochford. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating forklifts to move, load, and unload materials, ensuring efficient warehouse operations. This role requires an individual who has experience lifting heavy packs of timber in 5 ton rated trucks.

Responsibilities

Operate forklifts to transport timber packs within the warehouse and loading bay. Load and unload goods from lorries ensuring safe handling practices. Perform routine checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs. Assist in shipping and receiving processes, including verifying incoming and outgoing shipments. Maintain accurate records of materials handled using the warehouse management system. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks. Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.

Skills

Some Mechanical knowledge related to forklift operation and equipment repair. Experience in shipping and receiving processes within a warehouse setting. Proficient in basic maths for inventory management and record keeping. Familiarity with materials handling techniques and best practices. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role. Previous experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment is required
