Overview

We are currently hiring a dependable and safety-focused Forklift Driver for the late shift in our busy metal shop. The ideal candidate will have experience operating forklifts in an industrial or metal fabrication environment and will be responsible for moving raw materials, finished parts, and heavy steel components safely and efficiently. This role is crucial to maintaining smooth workflow and supporting production and shipping operations during off-peak hours.

Schedule: Late Shift 16.00-02.00 Monday-Thursday

Job Type: Full-Time 40-hour week

Salary: 12.80ph plus 25% shift premium

Responsibilities

Operate forklifts Load and unload trucks and trailers with raw materials and finished metal products Supply production machines and welding/fabrication stations with materials as needed Organise and store materials in designated areas using proper stacking and handling techniques Perform equipment checks and report any maintenance or safety concerns Follow shop safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE at all times Assist with inventory management, tagging materials, and keeping accurate records Maintain cleanliness and organisation of yard and warehouse areas Work closely with shop floor personnel and communicate material movement needs clearly

Qualifications

Valid forklift operator certification/license 1+ year of forklift experience, preferably in a metal shop, fabrication, or industrial setting Comfortable handling large, awkward, or heavy metal materials safely Ability to work late shift hours consistently, including occasional weekends or overtime Ability to work independently and support multiple departments as needed Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or in a similar role within a warehouse environment.
