Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently handling materials within the warehouse, ensuring safe and accurate loading and unloading of goods. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations and mechanical knowledge to maintain equipment effectively.

Responsibilities

Operate forklifts to load and unload materials from lorries and storage areas. Perform shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring all items are accounted for and properly documented. Conduct routine inspections and basic repairs on forklift equipment to ensure optimal performance. Manage materials handling processes, including stacking, storing, and retrieving items in a safe manner. Maintain an organised warehouse environment, adhering to health and safety regulations. Utilise a Warehouse Management System (WMS) for tracking inventory levels and product locations. Assist with heavy lifting tasks as required, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury.

Requirements

Proven experience in a warehouse environment with a focus on shipping and receiving processes. Valid forklift certification is essential; experience operating various types of forklifts is preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge to assist with equipment repair and maintenance tasks. Basic maths skills for accurate inventory management and documentation. Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed, with a focus on safety practices. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. A proactive approach to problem-solving within the warehouse setting.
