Scope of Role

Avondale Foods is a leading food processing company of Fresh and Chilled products supplying leading retail businesses such as Marks & Spencer, Morrisons and Waitrose in the UK. To lead by example and ensure that you and your team are adhering to company policies and procedures in relation to Product Quality, Food Safety and Integrity.

To service production departments by transferring and supplying required produce in a timely and efficient manner, role is mainly as a forklift operator but will also have manual handling duties such as unloading crates from lorries occasionally

The jobholder impacts on the overall production workflow, contributes to clean environment by disposing Company waste properly, first point of call for all ingredients, dry goods, and other materials delivered to the Company.

Key Responsibilities

To unload, decant deliveries and to report any quality issues immediately To book deliveries onto AX system and transfer goods throughout the factory in AX To ensure that all products are properly stored in designated areas with correct codes and labels To observe stock control procedures in chills and storage areas at all times To complete all documentations and update records for traceability To ensure that stock rotation is carried out regularly To transfer required produce to production departments promptly To operate forklifts in a safe manner, to ensure that they are maintained in good working order, and to report any issues to immediate department manager To observe good housekeeping rules within the Department and immediate surroundings including the yard To adhere to Company general policies, i.e., Food Safety, Health Safety, Absence,etc.

Essential Criteria

Valid Forklift licence Basic practical Computer knowledge and skills Able to communicate to a high standard of both verbal and written English Able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail Able to demonstrate working to deadlines Able to demonstrate working on own initiative Able to demonstrate flexibility and to work additional hours when required
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 12.30-13.02 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
