Challenge Packaging is a specialist in corrugated packaging design and manufacture. We work hard to ensure our cardboard box supply is as efficient as possible and extend that methodology into packaging supplies to offer a full service to our customers.

We have one vacancy for a Forklift Operator / Originations Technician working 48 hours per week (working hours are between 5:00 PM and 6:00 AM, Monday to Thursday with one-hour break).

General description of the job:

The Forklift Operator / Origination Technician plays a key role in supporting our corrugated printing operations. This position involves preparing, supplying, and managing materials to ensure a smooth and efficient production process. This position involves regular manual handling tasks, therefore a strong commitment to maintaining health and safety standards is essential.

Key Responsibilities

:

Warehouse Duties:

Load and unload vehicles according to company documentation. Receipt goods into relevant departments. Scan stock using an RF system. Use internal computer functions designed for accurate stock control. Ensure production teams have adequate supplies for continuous production. Manage all waste disposal and recycling.

Origination Duties:

Coordinate tooling setup for each job, ensuring alignment with production specifications. Track tooling usage and condition, reporting wear or damage for timely replacement. Collaborate with production teams to ensure tooling compatibility and readiness. Use internal computer functions designed for accurate stock control. Mix and match inks to meet specific job requirements and brand colour standards. Maintain ink inventory, ensuring proper storage, labelling, and safe handling. Work with internal teams to manage ink stock and resolve quality issues. Treat and maintain the in-house water system to ensure clean, recycled water is readily available.

Qualifications:

Counterbalance Forklift is essential. Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting. Basic IT skills for record-keeping and inventory management.
