Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as a Forklift / Van Driver.

This role is night work. Hours are 10pm until 7am, with overtime available. The role requires two weeks of a month to be six days a week including a Friday night into Saturday. A clean driving licence is essential - applicants must be above 30 for us to comply with our fleet insurance policy.

This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse activities, as well as ensuring orders are prepared, quality checked and then subsequently delivered. The ideal candidate will possess a strong experience in both forklift and van driving and demonstrate proficiency in various tasks that contribute to the overall efficiency of our logistics.

Duties

Handle materials with care, ensuring proper loading and unloading procedures are followed. Utilise a forklift for transporting goods within the warehouse safely and efficiently. Assist in shipping and receiving processes, verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation. Conduct deliveries to our off site customers in works vans. Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations. Engage in heavy lifting as required, ensuring proper techniques are employed to prevent injury. Conduct regular inventory checks to ensure stock levels are accurate.

Skills

Proven experience in warehouse operations or a similar role. Has worked nights and is ready to continue doing so. Familiarity with warehouse management systems for effective inventory control. Competence in materials handling, including safe lifting techniques. Basic mathematical skills for accurate record keeping and inventory management. Ability to operate a forklift safely; certification is preferred but not mandatory. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in all tasks performed. Capability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
