Job Description

Cidon Construction is looking to appoint a Formwork and Yard Manager to oversee operations at our busy Barnsley Depot. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established team and play a key role in supporting our reinforced concrete projects across the UK.

About the Role

You will be responsible for the Yard day-to-day operations, overseeing the team to ensure working procedures are implemented at all times. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and efficient working environment, equipment is organised, stock is checked and adequately maintained ready for deliveries to be made to our construction sites.

As a reinforced concrete subcontractor, the equipment in the Yard is stored, and maintained and distributed across our projects throughout the UK. We have an extensive range of Peri, Doka and proprietary formwork equipment for concrete works, therefore knowledge and / or experience of using or management of formwork systems is preferred. Working with our plant co-ordinator, the role will ensure all site requests or stock checks are processed efficiently and accurately, in line with our booking in and out procedure.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily yard operations and staff, ensuring clear communication and task allocation Liaise with office teams to coordinate upcoming picks and deliveries Supervise the preparation, picking, and loading of all outbound equipment orders To supervise the yard team to ensure all orders are recorded Record and report any equipment shortages or delays to site teams Ensure all deliveries are safely loaded and secured appropriately before leaving the Yard Returns to the Yard are recorded, damages quarantined, and all equipment checked before safely putting away. All equipment condition checked the ensure ready for re-hire. Manage damaged tools and implement a repair regime Ensure any plant / tools required are clean and fit for re-hire. Periodic stock takes to be carried out in the Yard and on site to ensure stock levels are correct for CJD and External Hire formwork Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant yard environment in coordination with external H&S auditors

Experience and Skills

Knowledge and / or experience of using or management of formwork systems is

preferred

Alternatively, a strong background in managing building or scaffolding yard is

essential

Strong team leadership and communication skills Basic IT literacy (tablets/systems used for equipment tracking) Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure

Hours of work:

Between 7.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday, based in Barnsley
