Fostering Support Worker

to assist Supervising Social Workers and Foster Carers across

Devon

and

Somerset

including the areas of

Torbay

and

Plymouth

.

Key Responsibilities



Promote the welfare of children and young people placed with Five Rivers Child Care. Support the placement process and provide practical assistance to foster families. Work directly with children and young people, including those who have experienced trauma, as part of structured programs. Coordinate group activities and joint work in home and community settings. Manage workload effectively, maintain accurate records, and produce meaningful reports. Deliver support in line with care plans and organisational policies. Represent Five Rivers to potential new foster carers at recruitment activities and events. Collate information and contribute towards the Investing in Children's Award. Arrange make a difference event for young people Offer cost effective support to individual young people

About You


We are seeking a caring, passionate, and motivated individual who enjoys interacting with young people.
Candidates must be friendly, with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a genuine passion for providing our young people and carers with high-quality support.
You may work with Children and Young people with a range of complex needs including Learning difficulties, Autism, and Trauma.

You must be able to work as a team member to achieve best outcomes for the children, and be able to communicate effectively with children and adults.
Experience of working in the fostering sector and/or children/young people would be an advantage but not necessary.

This is a Full-Time position for 37 hours a week, which could include weekends and after school hours. A full UK driving licence is required for this role as it involves extensive driving across the above areas.

Requirements



Ability to work collaboratively within a team. Full UK driving licence (extensive travel required). Flexibility to work 37 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
