Foundry Quality Inspector
About the Position
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Foundry Quality Inspector to join our Clients team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in foundry operations and quality control processes. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of quality for our foundry products and maintaining our reputation for excellence in the industry.
Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished castings to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer specifications
  • Utilise various measuring instruments and testing equipment to perform dimensional checks, metallurgical analyses, and non-destructive testing
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to verify product conformity
  • Identify and document defects, non-conformities, and quality issues throughout the production process
  • Collaborate with production teams to implement corrective actions and prevent recurring quality problems
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspection results, test data, and quality reports
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality control processes and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies
  • Calibrate and maintain quality control equipment and tools
  • Provide training and guidance to junior quality inspectors and production personnel on quality-related matters
  • Assist in the development and implementation of quality control plans and procedures
  • Conduct regular audits of production processes to identify areas for improvement
  • Investigate customer complaints and participate in root cause analysis
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve quality-related issues and improve overall product quality
Qualifications
Required:
  • 2-5 years of experience as a quality inspector in a foundry or similar manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in foundry operations, including moulding, core-making, melting, and casting processes
  • Strong knowledge of quality control techniques, statistical process control, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 9001, ASTM, and ASME
  • Experience with various inspection tools and equipment, including calliper's, micrometers, CMM, and non-destructive testing methods
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software
