Job Summary DiGiCo is a global leader in the design and manufacturing of mixing consoles used by top musician around the world. KLANG, based in Aachen, Germany leads the way in immersive in-ear monitoring solutions. Together, we offer solutions to enhance live performances experience for performers.

We are looking for a talented and passionate FPGA engineer to join our teams either in Chessington or Aachen. In this role you will be designing low-latency, high accuracy audio systems for both companies and drive the inter-communication between KLANG's and DiGiCo's products. You will be involved in all the steps of the development of our products (Specification, system architecture, schematics review, development, debugging)




Main activities & Responsibilities Audio Engine Design: Develop new processing and features on our ecosystem of products (Consoles, Racks, DMIs, Audio Processors)

Algorithm Development: Design audio effects, audio signal routing solutions, interface externals IC with bespoke communication protocols.



Software development: Write clear code, with an emphasis on high-quality software development practices. Test and verify your designs with industry standard verification libraries.



Hardware Development: Sketch and review electronics design, system architecture and Specify IC choices.



Documentation: Thoroughly document designs, interfaces, and protocols to ensure clarity and maintainability across the team.

Attributes Essential Desirable


Education, qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Software Engineering or a related field

MSc/PhD in Electronics / Software Engineering or related subject Degree in Music Technology



Experience
>=3 Years of Firmware development with a low level of programming (FPGA/ASIC, DSP, or C for low-latency systems) Proficiency in VHDL Strong understanding of digital signal processing, high-speed digital design, embedded microprocessor/microcontroller design, and digital circuit components (DSP, memory, clocking resources) Competence in electronic hardware design and bring-up, with experience in audio interfaces and serial communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, I2S).
Knowledge and experience of one of the following will be considered an advantage:
Knowledge of Dante or AES67 Ethernet, IP, Network and switch configuration Assembler for SHARC DSP (CrossCore or VisualDSP++) Xilinx FPGA & Tools (Vivado, ISE, Vitis, SDK) simulation/verification using OSVVM C/C++ U-boot/Linux/Yocto experience Knowledge of digital audio or mixing consoles



Practical & intellectual skills (inc. special knowledge)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance perfection and speed Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and within remote teams

A genuine interest in FPGA and DSP engineering, with a passion for audio technology
