Job Purpose

An excellent opportunity for an experienced

FRA Carpenter

to join the team, working on fire safety projects including the installation, repair, and upgrade of fire doors and related fire protection works. This role requires a strong understanding of fire safety regulations, British Standards, and quality compliance, alongside excellent customer service and record-keeping skills.

Key Responsibilities

Fit new fire doors, repair frames, and upgrade existing doors to required standards. Install electrical enclosures and fire-rated plasterboard. Carry out fire stopping works in line with regulations. Ensure all work complies with British Standards and fire safety legislation. Maintain accurate records and complete minor administration tasks as required. Deliver work to a high-quality standard, ensuring compliance with quality management systems. Work effectively with clients, demonstrating excellent customer relationship skills. Operate with an innovative and solutions-focused approach to fire safety challenges.

Person Specification

Qualifications & Education

Relevant carpentry/joinery qualification or equivalent experience - Essential.

Experience

Proven experience working with fire doors, including fitting, repairing, and upgrading - Essential. Knowledge and understanding of fire door components - Essential. Experience of fire stopping works - Essential. Knowledge of British Standards relating to fire safety - Essential.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong practical carpentry skills - Essential. Good standard of record keeping and administration - Essential. Excellent communication and customer service skills - Essential. Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Essential. Innovative approach to problem-solving - Desirable.

Pre-Employment Requirements

Full UK Driving Licence - Essential (company van will be provided). Valid Passport or Photo ID to prove Right to Work in the UK. National Insurance Number. DBS check may be required depending on contract.
