The Role:
As the Fragrance Sales Specialist for John Bell & Croyden, you are an essential guide in our unique retail environment. Your mission is to provide an elevated, bespoke customer experience, positioning the purchase of fragrance not merely as a transaction, but as a key component of the client's holistic luxury and wellbeing journey. This role requires a specialist who is knowledgeable about the history of perfumery, articulate in scent composition, and highly driven to achieve premium sales targets within our historic emporium.
1. Driving Sales & Expert customer care:
Consistently achieve and exceed individual sales targets and luxury KPIs (e.g., Average Transaction Value, Units Per Transaction).
Proactively engage customers, offering in-depth, personalized fragrance consultations that honour our apothecary heritage and focus on the artistry and provenance of each scent.
Confidently cross-sell luxury products and services across the broader Wellbeing Emporium, connecting fragrance recommendations with skincare, supplements, or clinical services.
2. Product Expertise & Wellbeing Integration:
Become the foremost expert on John Bell & Croyden's exclusive and curated fragrance selection, understanding each brand's unique story, note profile, and formulation.
Articulate how fragrance selections fit into a customers' overall health and wellness routine, promoting a holistic approach to luxury beauty and personal care.
Maintain the highest visual merchandising standards for the fragrance department, ensuring display cases and stock areas reflect the pristine, historic elegance of our Wigmore Street store.
3. Operational Excellence & Brand Advocacy:
Adhere strictly to all premium retail operational procedures, including secure cash handling, inventory management, and loss prevention.
Act as a professional Brand Ambassador, ensuring all interactions reflect the discretion, courtesy, and high standards associated with our business.
Participate actively in brand training sessions, masterclasses, and exclusive in-store events to continually enhance product knowledge and service delivery.
A genuine appreciation for the history of pharmacy/apothecary, and an ability to connect modern luxury trends with John Bell & Croyden's 200+ year legacy.
Desirable:
Proficiency in a second language relevant to our global clientele (e.g. Arabic ).
Formal training or certification in perfumery, cosmetology, or luxury clienteling.
Exceptional communication skills, characterized by eloquence, patience, and the ability to conduct an engaging one-on-one consultation.
Impeccable personal grooming and presentation, suitable for a London luxury flagship location.
Minimum of 2 years of demonstrable high-achieving sales experience, ideally within fine fragrance, luxury beauty, high-end jewelry, or niche retail.
