Freelance Advertising Manager to join our Vintage Rock team

. We're seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented sales manager to drive revenue generation across our print and digital platforms. This is a

purely commission-based opportunity, offering a 25% commission share on all successfully secured advertising revenue

. The role is ideal for a driven self-starter and a proven track record in media sales, who is confident in their ability to generate significant revenue. A passion for rock 'n' roll music and a deep understanding of its audience is an advantage, but not essential.



This is a 100% commission-based freelance role. You will receive a 25% commission share of the revenue generated from all advertising sales that you successfully secure.

On target earnings:

1-2k per issue

Summary of position:



Develop and implement a proactive freelance advertising sales strategy to secure new and existing revenue for Vintage Rock Magazine (print & digital). Proactively identify and target key potential advertisers relevant to the vintage rock demographic (e.g music retailers, instrument manufacturers, tour promoters, lifestyle brands). Understand client marketing objectives and develop compelling, tailored multimedia advertising proposals. Provide regular updates to the Publisher on progress and market feedback. Present forecast every month to the Publisher and Head of Advertising. Present and negotiate advertising packages effectively, either in-person, phone or email. Build and maintain strong working relationships with advertising agencies and direct clients. Provide excellent client communication and support throughout campaigns, and at campaign reporting stage. Independently manage the full sales cycle from initial contact to closing deals. Produce a monthly market share / competitor analysis report. Produce a regular monthly Advertiser E-newsletter' to promote upcoming opportunities to potential clients. Liaise monthly with the Editor to ensure all featured businesses are fully canvassed. Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and new advertising opportunities. Forecast sales revenue and track performance against targets. Achieve a pre-booked figure, per issue, 60% of target.C onsistently update Salesforce records for each client throughout the sales process.E nsure new business is credit checked with accounts by providing all billing details for invoicing. E nsure all copy submission is accurate and on time.T ravel to see clients, attend tradeshows, or participate in industry events, when necessary. E

roven track record of success in freelance advertising sales, preferably within the media/publishing industry. S trong understanding of the advertising sales process and media landscape (print and digital).E stablishing a network of contacts within relevant advertising agencies and direct clients is highly desirable.E xcellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.H ighly self-motivated, independent, and results-oriented with a strong entrepreneurial spirit.E xcellent organisational and time management skills to manage freelance responsibilities effectively.P roficiency in Salesforce with good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word is beneficial.A genuine passion for vintage rock music and an understanding of its cultural significance is highly desirable, but not essential.A
