The Opportunity
We are seeking a
Freelance Assessor
with proven experience delivering and assessing:
Early Years Education (Levels 2 & 3)
Early Leadership & Management (Level 5)
Additional qualifications in
Business Administration (Level 3), Business Management
,
Health and Social Care
, or other vocational sectors will be considered a significant bonus.
The successful candidate will deliver and assess qualifications for our
self-funded learners
, many of whom are supported by our in-house recruitment team and placed into full-time, part-time, or volunteering roles. Learners still seeking placements are actively supported to secure opportunities.
This flexible, hybrid role allows for remote delivery, but assessors are required to attend
important in-person events
, such as graduation ceremonies, workshops, or internal training sessions--with plenty of notice provided in advance.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver, assess, and support learners undertaking:
Early Years Level 2 & 3
Leadership & Management Level 5
(Optional:
Business Administration Level 3
,
Health and Social Care
, etc.)
Plan and deliver engaging, compliant training aligned with awarding body criteria.
Conduct learner assessments, observations, and progress reviews--both remotely and in person.
Apply for learner certificates upon full completion and sign-off
, in accordance with internal processes and awarding body procedures.
Maintain accurate records, learner portfolios, progress logs, and ILPs.
Support learners in employment, volunteering, or transitioning into work placements.
Attend essential company events, meetings, and team sessions (advance notice provided).
Participate in standardisation, internal quality assurance, and learner progress meetings.
Provide timely and constructive feedback to guide learners through their journey.

Assessor Qualification:

Experience delivering and assessing
Early Years
(Levels 2 & 3) and
Leadership & Management
(Level 5)
Demonstrated experience in applying for and processing learner certification upon completion
Understanding of awarding body standards, certification processes, and regulatory compliance
Strong administrative skills with attention to detail and learner documentation
Comfortable working independently and managing a flexible learner caseload
Good working knowledge of digital platforms for e-learning, video delivery, and e-portfolio systems
Desirable (Bonus) Experience
Teaching Qualification (e.g. PTLLS, AET, or equivalent)
Experience delivering other qualifications (
e.g. Early Years,
Business Admin
,
Health & Social Care
)
Experience supporting a range of learners including those from disadvantaged or underrepresented backgrounds
Familiarity with systems like Laser Learning, OneFile, Smart Assessor, or WIX-based CRMs
Working Pattern
Freelance basis - learner volumes and schedules are flexible and discussed at interview
Remote delivery with
hybrid attendance
for key Azalea events and internal development
Immediate start preferred (but we're happy to wait for the right person with notice period)
